Coming in early 2019, Integrated Orthopedics is excited to offer Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) to all of our Integrated Orthopedics’ family!
WBC, also known as a form of cold therapy, is a recovery modality that will aid in our patients’ recovery, peak athletic performance and improve our patients active and healthy lifestyles. WBC relieves pain, decreases inflammation and coupled with physical therapy accelerates surgical recovery time. It peaks athletic performance by reducing recovery time needed between training sessions, restricting the inflammatory response, and accelerating the recovery of both the structural integrity and functionality of the muscles. Whole body cryotherapy has reinvented the healing process!
What is Whole Body Cryotherapy?
WBC is the science of exposing the body to sub-zero temperatures. It is an all-natural and safe therapeutic three-minute treatment that occurs in a special temperature-controlled chamber. The CryoArtic chamber holds the highest standards in the industry, providing a fully breathable atmosphere, a window feature allowing patients to choose between a fully or partially enclosed cryotherapy session and blue tooth speakers for our patients to enjoy their favorite song during their treatment.
Upon entering the CryoArctic chamber the body is exposed to temperatures as low as -266°F. The brain triggers a physiological repair response and stagnant blood from the skin’s surface, muscle tissue and surrounding joint space is circulated to the core. The blood is cleansed of toxins and enriched with nutrients and oxygenated blood. WBC increases blood circulation throughout the body, the enriched blood is rushed to sites of injury and inflammation and accelerates the body’s natural healing process.
