Integrated Orthopedics Welcomes Gretchen Post, Physician Assistant

Gretchen Post, integrated orthopedics

If you’ve been in the office recently for a visit, you may have seen a new face and had the chance to meet Gretchen Post. Gretchen joined the Integrated Orthopedics family last month and becomes our second physician assistant (PA) – along with Rob Hutchinson, PA – to join our clinical team.

With our patient base expanding and our mission to provide comprehensive and innovative orthopedic care that puts patients first, we knew it was time to add another provider to our team. Gretchen joins us with a wealth of experience and has served as a PA in a variety of capacities since 2003. She attended Indiana University and Ball State University for her undergraduate degree in exercise physiology and A.T. Still University for her graduate studies to become a PA.

Prior to joining Integrated Orthopedics, Gretchen spent 12 years working in an outpatient musculoskeletal practice treating patients non-operatively with spine and other orthopedic pathologies. She looks forward to how her experience in this area will translate into orthopedics, stating “I treated all musculoskeletal conditions as you would in orthopedics and practicing in orthopedics will continue to allow me to assist patients in returning to their desired function.” Gretchen has also worked as a PA in family practice.

“I knew at a young age that I wanted to be in medicine,” said Gretchen. “I ultimately chose the PA profession because of the vast opportunities PAs have to work in various areas of medicine and the ability to change fields throughout their careers.”

Gretchen joined the Integrated Orthopedics team due to its patient-centered philosophy along with her previous experience in physical medicine and rehabilitation. She is most looking forward to helping patients overcome and alleviate acute and chronic orthopedic conditions and helping them return to fulfilling active lifestyles.

“I believe in treating the person, as a whole, not just the condition,” said Gretchen. “I enjoy educating and empowering patients on their condition so they can be involved in their care to meet their desired treatment goals.”

Gretchen has lived in Arizona since May 1998, when she came to the state to do an internship to complete her undergraduate degree. She is married and has two daughters.

Gretchen – like so many of Integrated Orthopedics’ patients – enjoys an active lifestyle. She participates in many outdoor activities, including biking, running, hiking, skiing and camping. Gretchen also competes in adventure races, triathlons and marathon and practices yoga. She loves to travel to new places and experience different cultures and foods.

We are pleased to welcome Gretchen to the team!
