Orthopedics Team

Phoenix-native J. Robert Hutchison is a certified physician assistant. He graduated from Chaparral High School and then went on to the University of Arizona. He was accepted into the Athletic Training internship program at the University. During his four years there he worked and did some travel with the University teams. After leaving the U of A he did an NFL internship with the Arizona Cardinals before starting graduate school at A.T. Still University. He finished at A.T. Still University with a Master’s degree in Athletic Training. Between graduate school and P.A. school he worked in the high school setting as an athletic trainer and worked one season in NFL Europe with the Rhein Fire in Dusseldorf, Germany. He attended Midwestern University for P.A. school and has been working in Orthopedics since he graduated 12 years ago.

Mr. Hutchison received a Bachelor’s in Science from the University of Arizona, a Masters Degree from A.T. Still University and later went on to complete the Physician Assistant program at Midwestern University. During his studies, he focused on Sports Health Care specifically.

Mr. Hutchison is board certified with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.


Gretchen Post, PA has served as a physician assistant in a variety of capacities since 2003. Ms. Post attended Indiana University and Ball State University for her undergraduate degree in exercise physiology and A.T. Still University for her graduate studies to become a PA. Prior to joining Integrated Orthopedics, Gretchen spent 12 years working in an outpatient musculoskeletal practice treating patients non-operatively with spine and other orthopedic pathologies. She knew at a young age that she wanted to be in medicine for a career, and ultimately chose the PA profession because of the vast opportunities PAs have to work in various areas of medicine.

Ms. Post has lived in Arizona since May 1998, when she came to the state to do an internship to complete her undergraduate degree. She is married and has two daughters and enjoys many outdoor activities, including biking, running, hiking, skiing and camping. Ms. Post also competes in adventure races, triathlons and marathon and practices yoga. She loves to travel to new places and experience different cultures and foods.


Susan is a native of Phoenix, Arizona where she attended Sunny Slope High school. She fulfilled her undergraduate studies at The University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Her area of study included Business and Nutrition. Upon graduation she completed training in orthopaedics and has continued in this field.  Over the years she has worked with local institutions such as the Diamond Backs Athletics. She has over 20 years of experience that is continued with Brian Gruber MD. Susan is the medical assistant to Dr. Gruber. In a clinical setting Susan will be casting, bracing, aiding with injections, and aiding in the performance of other medical services while assisting Brian Gruber MD.


Randy takes care of our patients as an X-ray technician. Prior to his work in the medical field, he worked for Intel and Mortorol for 16 years in training & development, desktop computer support. In 2006, he completed his medical radiography degree. Prior to joining our team, Randy worked in urgent care and radiology imaging centers. He managed a Radiology and CLIA mid-complexity laboratory for a mid-sized health clinic in Northern Arizona for five years. He is married and he and his wife Lise have a daughter and son. Randy enjoys collecting newspaper headlines going back to the Civil War. A little- known fact about him is that he raced thoroughbred horses. He also played competitive tennis, enjoys jogging, martial arts and billiards.


Megan serves as a certified medical assistant for physician assistants Rob Hutchison and Gretchen Post. She completed her training at Kaplan College in Palm Springs, CA. Megan has worked as a medical assistant for nine years, five of which were in pediatric medicine. She is new to the field of orthopedics and is loving it. Megan is new to Arizona and lives here with her husband and their two dogs.


Sam coordinates activities at the front desk and welcomes and check-in our patients. She is currently a student at Paradise Valley Community College pursing her bachelor’s degree with the goal of then applying to graduate programs to become a physician assistant. Prior to joing out team, Sam worked at Lifescape Medical Association in collections and billing. She also worked at the Bureau of Medical Economics in collections. Sam is married with a beagle basset hound. She loves crafting, including scrapbooking, painting and all things DIY.


Stephanie welcomes our patients at the front desk and coordinates front office activities. She is a graduate of Peoria High School. In addition to her work in the medical field with Agave Pediatrics and SimonMed Imaging, she worked with the special needs department at Peoria High School and taught Pre-K for eight years. Stephanie and her spouse and their seven children live an active lifestyle and enjoy playing and watching sports, especially basketball.


Physical Therapy Team


Jessica is originally from a small town in coastal Massachusetts. She moved to Phoenix with her family in 1995 and graduated from Desert Vista High School in 2002. Jessica completed her undergraduate education at University of Arizona where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology in 2006. She then returned to Phoenix and started exploring the world of physical therapy and orthopedics. Jessica spent two years working as a physical therapy technician before deciding to further her education in the field. In 2011, Jessica graduated with a clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles. She immediately entered a yearlong orthopedic physical therapy residency program with HealthCare Partners in Torrance, CA. After completing her residency in 2012, she relocated back to Arizona and has continued to pursue her passion for orthopedic physical therapy. In 2012, Jessica was published in the Journal of Women’s Health Physical Therapy in 2012 and has been recognized as a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) since 2014. Beyond her career, Jessica enjoys traveling with her husband, exploring new local restaurants, running, interval training and cheering on her hometown Boston sports teams and U of A Wildcats.


Danielle McConnell, DPT
Danielle was born in Pennsylvania, but has been in Arizona for 32 years. She is a graduate of Arizona State University, where she received a bachelor of science in kinesiology. Danielle completed her training to become a physical therapist at A.T. Still University, where she received a doctorate in physical therapy. She has worked in outpatient orthopedics for 13 years, including roles at TOCA, Physiotherapy Associates and Total Sports Therapy. Danielle is ASTYM certified. In her free time, she enjoys working out, hiking with her family, traveling to California and watching the ASU Sun Devils and Pittsburgh Steelers play football. Danielle also loves spending time with her young son, who she says keeps her moving all the time.


Gary is originally from Globe Arizona. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Science and Secondary Education from the University of Arizona in 1986. Gary then worked in high schools and community colleges teaching physical education and health science for several years. After his teaching career, Gary accepted a position performing outreach athletic training assignments for local high schools in Tulsa Oklahoma for three years. Upon returning to Arizona, Gary worked for John C. Lincoln in their Sports Medicine department for five years. He returned to the University of New Mexico and earned a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration in 2002. Gary then accepted a position as the Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach at WTAMU in Canyon, Texas, where he was employed for five years. He returned to Arizona to be close to his family and again entered the clinical setting and has worked for the last eight years in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation. Gary’s hobbies include bow hunting, fishing, camping, four-wheeling and riding his Harley.


Barbara has been employed in the medical field with front office physical therapy experience since 2009. She was born and raised in Arizona and is an avid fan of the state’s sports teams, notably the Cardinals, Suns, and Diamondbacks. The light of her life is spending time with her five grandchildren and enjoying outdoor activities with them. Barbara seeks to bring enthusiasm and a positive attitude in her role as part of the Integrated Orthopedics Physical Therapy, which she joined in 2015.
